NORMANDY OF THE IMPRESSIONISTS

Day 1

GIVERNY Departure from your country.

Arrival to Giverny the”so beautiful country” of Monet.

Promenade in the village and especially in the street of Claude Monet to discover the many galleries of paintings.

Visit to the house and gardens of Claude Monet.

Inside the house, you will discover, among others, its studio lounge,the dining room, the blue living room and the rooms of the painter, Alice and Blanche.

Then walk through the two gardens : the Norman enclosure and the water garden with the Japanese bridge and the famous nymphets.After lunch, a guided tour of the museum of Impressionism followed by a workshop of 3 or 4 paintings. Continuation to Rouen. Dinner and night in your youth hoste

Day 2

ROUEN After breakfast guided tour of the city in the footsteps of the impressionists including a visit to the famous cathedral.

Visit of the Museum of Fine Arts and the rich collection of Impressionist works.

Departure to the Seine Valley to discover the village named la Bouille where twilight, ships and seines have been magnified by Turner, Pissarro, Sisley….

This excursion can be made by boat to discover the most beautiful loops of the Seine.

Day 3

Departure to Le Havre, its in this city that Claude Monet in 1872 paints “Impression , rising sun ” and gives its name to Impressionism.

Guided tour to the Muma, André Malraux , museum of Modern Art which hosts a splendid collection of impressionnist paintings.

Stop at Sainte Adresse beach to admire the view to the sea dear to Monet.

Continuation towards Honfleur via Normandy Bridge, walk on the Old Basin, visit to The Eugene Boudin museum.

Depending of your time, departure to Trouville sur Mer, charming seaside resort honored by Claude Monet in the painting “la Plage de Trouville” discover the magnificient villas prized by the beautiful society of the time.
