As well as being a UNESCO World Heritage site, Lyon is also a city of lights, a living history book and a constant succession of discovery opportunities. Lyon and its region are engaged in endless culinary and wine experiences, and also offer an enormous playground for those who like their sporty or cultural adventures.

Day 1: Arrival in Lyon, first discovery

Arrival in Lyon and greeting from your driver and local guide.

Transfer to a « Bouchon Lyonnais » restaurant for a first typical lunch.

Departure for a guided panoramic city sightseeing tour of Lyon’s historical town centre registered at UNESCO since 1998.

Transfer to your hotel. Installation in your room.

Dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 2 : Lyon Old Town, Gastronomy & Silk

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure with your guide for the walking tour of the « Vieux Lyon », the medieval and Renaissance district of the old town.

Then, continue to the « Halles Paul Bocuse », the covered market of Lyon.

Lunch « Lyon style » of fine colds cuts, varied cheeses, sweets with local wines from the merchants.

In the afternoon, guided tour of the Croix Rousse district by following the footsteps of the « Canuts », the silk weavers. 

Commented tour of the « Maison des Canuts »: explanations on the technical, social and creative prestige of the silk industry of Lyon since 5 centuries, with weaving demonstration on a Jacquard loom.

Walk down the hill until town centre through the slopes and secret passageways.

Finally, visit the « Atelier de Soierie » in order to appreciate the techniques of silk painting.

Back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 :

Breakfast at the hotel.

Guided tour of the modern district of Confluence, today one of the most fashionable area of the city: a successful reconversion with an ecofriendly avant-garde.

Lunch in a famous Brasserie of Lyon.

Guided tour of the Confluence Museum, the Natural History Museum of the city.

Finish your day with a relaxing commented boat ride on the river Rhone and/or Saone.

Transfer back to your hotel or, according to your schedule, to the train station or the airport.
