Day 1 : Arrival

Late afternoon : Arrival in Soissons. Check-in. Dinner. Free evening and overnight.


Day 2 : Soissons and the Chemin des Dames Musuem

Breakfast. Walking tour in Soissons. The former capital of the Frankisk kingdom retains a rich medieval religious heritage. Discover it through its main monuments : the Gothic Cathedral of St. Gervais and St. Protais, the remarkable remains of the Abbey of Saint-Jean-des-Vignes or the old Abbey of St. Leger… Free time for lunch. Departure to the Chemin des Dames. Guided tour of the Dragon’s Cavern. This old stone quarry became underground barracks in the Great War. Explore the many tunnels occupied both by French and German soldiers, separated by internal walls. Way back to the hotel. Dinner. Free evening and overnight.

Day 3 : Senlis, an abbey, roses and perfume

Breakfast. Departure to Senlis. Your passionnated tour guide will show you the town Senlis with the vestiges of the castle where Hugues Capet has been elected, its Gothic cathedral, many mansions and pretty medieval lanes making Senlis a highly valued scenery by film makers. Free time for lunch. Departure to Fontaine-Chaalis. Enjoy the Chaalis domain with te romantic remains of a cistercian abbey, the Renaissance frescos of the Sainte-Marie Chapel, the Jacquemart-André collection (with masterpieces from Giotto, Philippe de Champaigne, Auguste Rodin…) and a 3,500 sq m roses garden ! Then, in the former stables, discover the frangrances’ secrets and create your own perfume ! Way back to the hotel. Dinner. Free evening and overnight.

Day 4 : Champagne !

Breakfast. Departure to Reims. Discover a world-renowned house of Champagne, visit a wine cellar and taste the king of wine ! Free time for lunch in Reims. Guided tour in the city of coronations with the cathedral, the Palais du Tau, the Abbey and the Basilica of Saint-Remi… All are classified as World Heritage Sites. Way back to the hotel. Dinner. Free evening and overnight.


Day 5 : Pierrefonds and Compiègne

Breakfast. Departure to Pierrfonds. Guided visit of the fairytale Castle of Pierrefonds. Napoleon III decided to rebuild it. This mock castle is the vision of the medieval ideal of architect Eugene Viollet-Le-Duc. Departure to Compiègne. Free time for lunch. Free afternoon to discover and enjoy this imperial town. Way back to the hotel. Dinner. Free evening and overnight.


Day 6 : Epernay, the second Champagne’s capital !

Breakfast. Departure to Epernay. Walking tour : follow the majestic Avenue de Champagne and discover its prestigious buildings. Free time for lunch. Discover one of the oldest Champagne producer, a family house located in the heart of the Great Valley of the Marne. Tasting. Cruise on the river Marne, between wineyards and bucolic villages. Way back to the hotel. Dinner. Free evening and overnight.
