Day 1 Arrival in Marseille – transfer to Avignon

Welcome to Marseille. We will transfer you from Marseille to Avignon (50min). After check-in, your guide will offer you a glass of wine from Provence and present your cycling tour. Then itˇs time for enjoying your first dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 2 Avignon – St. Remy 36 km

You start with a little walk in the city and your guide will tell you the history of Avignon and the Palace of the Popes. You leave Avignon riding on small roads towards one of the most beautiful villages in the region and very typical : St Rémy de Provence. St Rémy is the town where Van Gogh has lived and where Nostradamus was born. The wines from Les Baux de Provence are also worthy of note, having been granted their own appellation status in the late eighties. You can enjoy the end of the day in the romantic small streets and places of St Rémy – or the swimming-pool.

Day 3 St. Remy – Les Baux – St. Remy 42 km

Today you are cycling from St Remy to Les Baux de Provence. The remarkable pilgrimage site was built at 200 m high outcrop and is dominated by a ruined fortress. It was Van Goghˇs area and here he got the inspiration for many of his paintings. Wonderful landscape in the shadow of the Alpilles Mountains.

Day 4 St. Remy – Arles 32 km

This day you leave St Remy to cycle south, towards to the Mediterranean sea and the town of Arles, perched on the side of the Rhone with its well-preserved amphitheatre, countless medieval and Roman monuments. You discover this beautiful city by foot with your guide.

Day 5 Arles – Marseille

Departure after breakfast and transfer back to Marseille.
