Day 1 Arrival
Check in at the hotel.
Dinner and night at La Roque Gageac, one of the most beautiful villages in the Dordogne valley.
Day 2 Sarlat la Caneda and navigation on the Dordogne
Departure to Sarlat la Caneda and guided visit of the city, its medieval streets, its large sunny squares, animated on market days…
In the afternoon, navigation on a traditional boat on the Dordogne river from La Roque Gageac. During 1 hour, discovery of superb points of view on the valley. After the cruise, your guide will lead you through the village.
Day 3 Lascaux and Montignac
In Lascaux, marvel at the replicas of the polychrome paintings executed nearly 17,000 years ago.
In the afternoon, discover the village at the entrance of the Vézère Valley. The walk continues in these medieval streets lined with houses on stilts or timber-framed, at the bend of a wash house or a fountain… Return to La Roque Gageac by the Vézère valley.
Day 4 Cahors – Saint Cirq Lapopie
Discover heritage treasures from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance in Cahors, not forgetting the famous Valentré Bridge.
Departure to the village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, one of the major sites of the Lot valley. This medieval village has many historical monuments. Enjoy some free time before tasting the Cahors wines!
Day 5 Markets and truffles
In the morning, departure for the Sarlat market. Succumb to local products all year long in an exceptional setting! Lunch at a restaurant of a truffle farm then visit the truffle farm
Day 6 – Martel and train ride in the valley
Boarding on the train of the High Quercy offering a 13 km trip at more than 80 meters high, to discover the Dordogne Valley and its admirable panoramas.
In the afternoon, guided walk in Martel, called “the city of the seven towers” for the time of a walk in its narrow streets.
Day 7 – Prehistory and troglodytes
Discover Beynac-et-Cazenac, one of the most beautiful villages in the Dordogne valley. Then head for Les Eyzies de Tayac, the world capital of Prehistory, where you will visit the national museum of Prehistory.
In the afternoon, a real limestone wall, one kilometer long and 80 meters high, with hundreds of rock shelters and long aerial terraces awaits you. These natural caves have been occupied by man since prehistoric times to the Middle Ages.
Day 8 – Rocamadour and the Padirac chasm
Departure in the morning to the Padirac chasm, the most famous chasm in Europe. Boat ride on the underground river at a depth of over 130 meters.
Visit of Rocamadour: clinging to the cliff, this village is a superposition of houses and churches in a vertiginous drop.
Day 9 – Departure
In the morning, departure towards your regions.
