More than a beverage, Champagne is also a former French county. Its medieval trade fairs attracted people from all over Europe. During this stay, enjoy the remnant of this opulence as the serenity of the landscapes speckled with numerous vineyards and houses of Champagne.

Winemakers, merchants or farmers, cellars and vineyards : the king of sparkling wines is the central theme of this stay. However, you will take time to discover the Champagne’s terroir and its history thanks to its major towns, its wildlife point of view and sailing the main river that cross this distinctive land. A true taste of France.

Day 1 : Reims, the coronations cathedral and dinner in a house of Champagne’s cellar.

Late morning : arrival in Reims. Luggage drop-off at the hotel. Lunch.
Walking city tour of the city of kings where medieval and post WW1 architectures mix up to give such a distinctive atmosphere. Visit of Our-Lady-of-Reims. The cathedral was the traditional location of the coronation of the kings of France. This typical Gothic church is protected by its famous Smiling Angel.
Check-in at the hotel. Departure for a house of Champagne. Discover a small part of a 25 km cellar network and enjoy an apéritif and a gastronomic 4-course dinner with unlimited champagne tastings under a vault.
Way back to the hotel before midnight. Overnight.

Day 2 : Troyes and the Orient Forest

Breakfast. Departure to the capital of the department of Aube (+/- 130 km). Walking city tour of the old town. Your guide will focus on the stained-glass windows of the city. They cover 9 centuries of History. The MOPO :Maison de l’Outil et de la Pensée Ouvrière. Thanks to a collection of more than 12,000 tools, you will better understand knowledge, expertise and lifeskills linked to craftsmanship since the 17th century.
Lunch.
Departure for the Orient Forest Regional Nature Park (+/-30 km). The crew, split in two parts, will experience in turns : :
– L’Espace Faune : In this wildlife sanctuary of 220,000 acres, live in semi-captivity, elks, aurochs, wood buffaloes, wild boars, mouflons …
– Between the banks of Amance and Temple Lakes. Lead by a nature-guide, learn about fauna and flora in wood and water environments.
As an option : (+€10.00 pp) (On Request on September or October) : Extend this nature break by watching, on sunset, the Orient Forest National Forest where no public access is permitted. From a first choice lookout, spot stags at the rut.
Way back to the hotel (+/- 140 km). Dinner. Free evening and overnight.

Day 3 : Reims’ mountain vineyards and cruise on the River Marne

Breakfast. Follow a part of the Champagne tourist route to reach Chamery (+/- 20 km). Visit a vineyard onboard a little road train. Discover the farm’s cellar and taste a glass of a Premier Cru Champagne. Countryside buffet served by waiters in traditional outfit. Departure. Embark nearby Epernay. (+/- 20 km).
Enjoy a bucolic guided cruise on the Marne. Vineyards, wildlife and flora will brighten the sailing trip up.

c 5:00 PM. Departure. End of our services.
