program
Day 1 – arrival in Provence
En route to your hotel in or around the Luberon Natural Park. Dinner at leisure
Day 2 – The ochres of Roussillon by bike
Meet at the bike rental company (choice of electric bike or not) and ride the ochre trail in total freedom (several distances on small, picturesque and quiet roads). First stop in Roussillon where you will visit an ochre factory followed by a workshop where you will learn how to make your own natural paint. You will discover some of the most beautiful landscapes and remarkable villages of the regional natural park. Dinner at leisure. Accommodation
Day 3 – Lavender
Drive to Sault where the lavender distiller is waiting for you. Sault, the birthplace of lavender, is situated on a rocky outcrop, dominating the eponymous valley at an altitude of 766 metres.
Known throughout the world for its lavender cultivation, visit the lavender producers on their farm to discover the blue flower and show you how the traditional distillery works. Continue your discovery by the lavender path. The aim of this path is to discover all the facets of lavender, a plant so dear to the eyes of the people of Provence. Dinner at leisure. Accommodation.
Day 4 – Hiking in Gordes
En route to Gordes. You can leave the car in the car park for the day and discover the area on foot. Walk from the village of Gordes to the Abbaye de Sénanque and take a private guided tour of the abbey.
After the visit, walk back to the village of Gordes to stroll through this famous village. In the afternoon, walk to the village of Les Bories. This hamlet is typical of the temporary settlements that doubled the size of villages and were linked to seasonal agricultural work.
If you do all the discoveries on foot, this day’s walk represents about 12 km of walking.
Dinner on your own. Accommodation.
Day 5 – Canoeing on the Sorgue
En route to Isle sur la Sorgue where you will embark on the peaceful waters of the Sorgue, for a trip of about 5 km with a guide. You will discover Mousquety, glide by the Fontanelles, take a break near the Indian beach and finally, after the watershed and the green bridge, you will arrive in the centre of the village of Isle sur la Sorgue.
Discover this village, a paradise for porcelain lovers, today the largest professional antiques centre in Provence. (Free visit)
Return to the hotel and dinner at leisure.
Day 6 – The villages of the Luberon
Drive to the southern Luberon to discover the most beautiful villages: Ansouis, Ménerbes, Lourmarin. Let chance guide your steps through the narrow streets and cobblestones and wander through the places where many artists have lived.
